Hi, I’m Toni West - I live in St. Helens in Merseyside, UK, and have been entertaining on the North West Club circuit for many years and I still enjoy it immensely.
From a very early age I have always enjoyed singing – my first memory is of myself and my brother standing at the front of the bus on a journey to Grandma’s house singing to entertain the other passengers – we must have been about 5 and 6 years old......
I started singing professionally when I was about 14 years of age and was in a couple of bands during a thriving music scene in Liverpool and Manchester. I was lucky enough to play at the Cavern in Liverpool which of course the Beatles had made very famous.
I later became a solo artiste and sang a wide range of cover versions which included many genres of music – from Connie Francis, Patsy Cline and The Everly Brothers to Adele,
Tina Turner and Enrique Iglesias - some of which are on my CDs “Dance with My Father” and “Look for Me in Rainbows”
About 7 years ago I was asked by Geoff Taggart and Jim Newcombe if I would record some of their original “Country” material and of course I said Yes!!
Geoff was a member of one of the bands I used to be with and he and Jim have had their songs recorded by Colin Paul, Shakin' Stevens, Rayburn Anthony, Hayden Thompson, Ben Hewitt, Carl Mann and Charlie Gracie.
Geoff and I then went on to write and record together and so my first Country CD,
“Lost in My Memories” was born – a mixture of songs by Jim, Geoff and myself as well as one written by Peter Frey & John Romanelli - I never dreamed it would be so well accepted and I am thrilled that the Presenters and DJ’s have been happy to play it.
New Album just out "Another Glass of Wine"
Whilst singing is my first love, I also work as a Background Artiste on Coronation Street which is a very famous Television Soap in the UK. For many years I have been seen propping up the bar in the Rovers Return Pub or having a bacon buttie in Roy's Rolls!!!
I am so happy to be where I am at the moment with regards to my music and count myself as one very lucky lady - thanks to everyone for their support.
